Strive Medical had long operated on their ERP, but certain key workflows (especially in QA and post-shipment processes) remained manual and inefficient. As volume increased and business expanded, those processes created operational strain. Valere Health empowered Strive to not only resolve those issues but scale operations by 20% annually without increasing team size.

The Challenge

Strive still relied on manual, repetitive workflows for key functions like QA checks and post-shipment validations. These tasks required human review of every order, leading to inefficiencies, inconsistencies, and growing risk of delay.

Meeting internal Service Level Agreement (SLA) timelines became increasingly difficult due to the growing volume and dependency on manual validation steps. Each order required multiple human checks to ensure accuracy before moving forward, and as volume increased, the team struggled to complete those checks within the expected timeframes. This placed shipment schedules and client commitments at risk.

While their ERP does offer APIs, limitations around functionality, cost, or accessibility made it impractical for Strive’s specific needs. As a result, critical workflows remained manual and inefficient.

“We created a big backlog in the shipping step. A lot of checks and balances, a lot of manual review, and it all started to bottleneck.”

The Solution

Strive partnered with Valere Health to build intelligent automations for their QA and post-shipment processes using the Valere Autoflow solution. The process began with deep discovery. Together, Valere and Strive mapped every manual step in the QA and shipping flow.

Once use cases were identified, Valere deployed a series of automations that functioned like digital coworkers, running through 20–30 checks per order, validating fields, correcting common data issues, and escalating only when human review was truly required.

Implementation Highlights:

The automation rollout was highly collaborative, iterative, and grounded in real data. Ali and her team worked closely with Valere to ensure precision, safety, and adaptability at each step:

    • Sandbox-driven validation: Strive used their ERP’s sandbox environment populated with refreshed production data to test every automation safely before deployment.

    • Live scenario simulation: The team walked through real sample orders manually while observing the bots mirror those steps, building confidence in the logic.

    • Staged rollout: Initial testing began with batches of 10 orders, increasing incrementally until full volume was live and stable.

    • Team involvement: Staff were actively engaged to report errors, exceptions, or anomalies during rollout, which helped rapidly refine and harden the automation.

    • Change management readiness: Every stakeholder potentially affected by the automation was kept informed and trained before go-live.

    • Built-in flexibility: As their ERP made backend updates or Strive evolved internal workflows, Valere’s automation logic was updated in stride.

The automations were designed to evolve. As their ERP updates or internal process changes occurred, Strive collaborated with Valere to adapt and maintain performance.

Valere’s automation became a layer of infrastructure that now runs beneath Strive’s business, scaling and flexing with each new need.

“We began by manually validating a small set of orders side-by-side with the automation, confirming its accuracy. Once proven, we gradually increased volume until the system reached full deployment.”

The Human Impact

At launch, the biggest concern wasn’t technical, it was human. Staff feared job loss. Strive leadership tackled this head-on, choosing transparency and inclusion. Instead of displacing team members, they brought them into the process.

Staff helped identify pain points, observed automation behavior, and provided feedback on exceptions and automation logic. What began as hesitation quickly turned to buy-in.

Strive avoided layoffs entirely. In fact, they began repurposing staff into more meaningful, strategic roles across departments. Individuals previously bogged down in redundant QA checks are now helping shape new automation logic, support analytics, and manage exceptions.

“They were afraid at first. But once they saw how much time it saved and how it eliminated the most frustrating tasks, the whole tone changed.”

What’s Next for Strive

Strive is maintaing operational efficiency and building a smarter, more agile organization around the success of automation.

With Valere Autoflow as an embedded infrastructure layer, Strive continues to expand its automation footprint across new workflows. Upcoming initiatives include:

But the true value is unfolding beyond workflows. Strive is now experiencing compounding benefits across the business:

  • Fewer claim denials and rework cycles: Automation ensures accuracy from intake to billing, reducing errors that lead to revenue leakage.

  • Faster cash flow: Cleaner claims and timely processing are accelerating collections and reducing Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).

  • Improved audit and compliance posture: Systematic checks and documentation automation create consistent, verifiable order history.

  • Workforce repurposing, not replacement: Staff once bogged down in manual QA are now focusing on exception management, process strategy, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Higher job satisfaction and retention: The shift away from repetitive, stressful tasks to more purposeful roles is improving team morale.

  • Automation culture shift: Initial fear has turned into enthusiasm. Teams now proactively request new automations when they encounter inefficiencies.

Strive’s investment in automation is no longer a one-time initiative. It has become a strategic pillar of their operating model. What began as a solution to workflow friction has evolved into a system-wide capability that drives efficiency, accuracy, and staff empowerment at scale. Automation is now baked into how Strive evaluates every process, allocates talent, and plans for future growth.

“As technology improves, we keep finding more areas to automate. Every time I find myself cleaning something up manually, I ask: can I automate this with Valere?”
